A standing bicycle pump with the normal fitting was used to produce the sound. A zoom h6 recorder, using the xy capsule was used to record the sound inside a garage.

This was recorded in the centre of oxford, near the junction between broad street and turl street, on 23rd february 2013. I was facing west along broad street with turl street, and the pavement, to my left. There are many different sounds on this recording including bikes being parked (i was standing near a bike rack) and ridden, cars lurking for a parking space, dropping people off and turning round (broad street has a car park in the middle of it), plenty of different people walking past and talking, and a big issue seller. There is the occasional bit of wind noise, but not as much as i'd feared (luckily the wind was behind me). Recorded with a marantz pmd661 with built-in microphones.

Recorded and processed at 24bit 48khz using a rode nt1-a condenser microphone. Processing: gain-staging and soft high and low frequency filtering. No eq boost or cuts anywhere else. Also de-noised.

The raw version of this sample was made by hitting my knuckle on a metal sculpture of an aircraft. De-clipped and de-noised just slightly using izotope rx. Verb, eq and comp in logic pro 8 + plugins. Recorded using the spectrumview iphone app. Sample rate = 48ksample size = 24 bit.

Bell ringers practising in marsden, west yorkshire. Untreated audio. A long silence has been recorded after the bells stop to enable noise removal. There is a some barely audible, infrequent, traffic noise and there are a few barely audible footsteps. Recorded on a roland r05 with wolf windshield.

This is one of the original tubular bells used by mike oldfield, possibly for the 1999 tour. Note: this bell is only a dummy bell. It was stuffed with foam and fitted with a transducer to trigger a sample. I took the foam out and gave it a thwack! great fun but it sounds absolutely terrible in my opinion.

After searching the vastness of the interweb for some 6 inch zilbel samples with no luck, i finally decided to record my own bell. Theres 3 versions of 4 single samples each, 4 chokes, 4 medium and 4 hard hits. I know a lot of you out there have been searching for some samples of one of these bells for a long time so here ya go guys, totally free, full to use for whatever you want, no credit needed to be given to me. These sound amazing in a mix and really add a lot of life to your drum tracks, they dont sound over compressed (theyre dry recordings) and they dont over power everything else, nice crisp and clear. 24/48 stereo recording of the sound of someone walking a bike. This clip while short is very loopable. There is ground crunch, light footsteps, clothing sway sounds, rubber tire on road, and the click of the bicycle chain.
